The Client

Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) commenced operations on 1 October 2009. PCT is a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Ports, which owns the 4th position worldwide in cargo terminals management companies in the world. PCT’s mission is to provide world class container terminal handling and port services and to be a global player in operating ports. PCT occupies a total area of about 763,998 square meters, with an enormous supporting container stacking area. It has 28 bridge cranes for ship unloading, 37 heavy stowage bridge cranes and more than 150 vehicles. In 2016, PCT handled 3.5 million TEUS.

The Need

PCT needed a solution for the weighing control of the outbound loaded trucks through sophisticated electronic truck scales to ensure that the transferred loads do not exceed the maximum permitted weight limits as defined by the Greek legislation.
