The Need
As part of its efforts to achieve greater automation and reliability in secondary packaging labeling, ARIVIA FOOD was looking for a solution that would replace the manual application of labels to cartons while ensuring consistent application quality, flexibility across different production lines, and centralized control of printing data. The application presented a particular technical challenge, as it involved small and lightweight cartons that required controlled handling during conveying and labeling in order to ensure accurate label placement without shifting or application failures.
The Solution
Following a detailed evaluation of the application requirements and the specific characteristics of the products, the Theodorou Group designed and implemented a complete automated Print & Apply labeling solution, fully tailored to ARIVIA FOOD's requirements. The solution was designed to ensure high operational reliability, flexibility across different production lines, and centralized management of the labeling process, without affecting the facility's productivity.
The solution includes:
- Industrial Print & Apply system, consisting of a label printer and high-precision applicator, designed for the automatic printing and application of labels on up to two sides of the cartons, ensuring consistent application quality and reliable operation even under demanding continuous-production conditions.
- Specially designed Hold-Down system, which stabilizes the lightweight cartons as they pass through the labeling station, ensuring accurate label placement and reliable system operation even at high production speeds.
- Standalone system with an integrated industrial operator display, enabling operators to create, select, and manage labels directly from the system, without the need for an external computer, providing greater flexibility and uninterrupted production operation.
- Dedicated centralized management software, enabling the creation, distribution, and management of print templates from a single environment, as well as remote monitoring and support of all systems.
